The Heritage This asks a very reasonable price for its elegant tropical respite on the south coast of Mauritius. The Heritage provides a choice of three excellent restaurants as an alternative to the main and with three distinct swimming pool areas, an excellent spa surrounded by beautiful gardens and a huge range of watersports along its good sandy beach. It is hard to find reason to leave the hotel, although golfing, mountain biking, sea and land excursions are all popular. Boredom or complacency are not an option!
All facilities aside, it is the staff attitude and service that make the Heritage a fine choice; staff are impressively friendly and willing to assist beyond their remit; bar staff have been witnessed diving in after too-small children in the bar-side pool and all staff make an effort to introduce themselves, remember names, and greet families and children as friends. Keen attention to detail throughout all aspects of daily presentation and service make this a recommended option. Full-board clients enjoy a daily spa treatment and huge range of watersports within the price, and the benefit of a good room service menu at any time of day. Despite its size, accommodation is arranged in small blocks each with different aspects and outlooks, allowing a sense of privacy and containment.
The Heritage - Summary
Golfers enjoy the fantastic championship golf course that adjoins the hotel, spanning the glorious distances between mountains, sugar plantations and sea, and parents are well advised that the kids club – the only one on the island to take kids under two – is lovely. Those with children under two must sign up for a personal nanny who will dedicate herself to your tots for the entirety of your stay, bookable 24 hours in advance for hours to suit your plans for the following day. The same nanny often provides the babysitting service in the evenings.
